With this new look comes a new focus: I have decided to add Writing Challenges to my blog content this year. So what exactly does that mean? Well, last year when I introduced my Reading Challenge the purpose was to motivate me to read more books. The Writing Challenge will work the same way by motivating me to write more often through fun and creative challenges.
Writing Challenge #1: Poetweets
A few years ago I started writing Poetweets, single tweet-sized lines of poetry in 140 characters or less. If you've glanced at my Twitter feed in the last two years you'll see that I lasted like a week. This time around my challenge will be to write at least 2 Poetweets a week for the month of February (that's 8 Poetweets in total). I think there's plenty of inspiration to draw from to get the creativity flowing--February is Black History Month in the U.S and there's also Valentine's Day.
To read my #poetweets, follow me on Twitter @KeishaLBrown. Want to journey this creative road with me? Share your own #poetweets! Also, I have started a new Facebook page where I will be sharing my blog posts from now on so please like my page to view my latest updates. You can also send me suggestions for new Reading or Writing Challenges.
Update: A complete list of Poetweets for this challenge are posted below. Read my first round of Poetweets here.
